Gilbert decided to not talk about her personal life until her realization that she was gay. She was dating Johnny Galecki, her actor co-star in the early years of her career. However, she realized that she was gay. Sara Gilbert began dating Allison Adler. They ended up breaking apart and Sara Gilbert made her public publicly known shortly after launching her talk show. She was married from 2014 through 2019, when she got married.
